Treasures of the Natural World: From the Natural History Museum London was an exhibition presented at Melbourne Museum with loans from the Natural History Museum London. Peter worked collaboratively with the curatorial, graphic design and exhibition management teams at Melbourne Museum - leading the spatial design and development for this large format exhibition.
The exhibition concept was developed using a variety of techniques including cardboard models, hand sketches, prototypes and 3D visualisations. The signature element of the design concept was an fitout comprised mostly from cardboard mediums, including boxes, panels, tubes and more.
Peter developed the concept approach and then collaborated closely with Melbourne Museum exhibition project managers to develop the design to meet the prescribed budget requirements throughout the tender process. Peter worked with the existing suite of showcases held by Melbourne Museum to bring greater cost efficiency to the exhibition fit-out.

“Working with Peter has been a delight. He brings great creativity and innovative thinking to the design process. Peter’s response to our brief demonstrated that he’d really taken on board and understood what we were trying to achieve with this project, and had developed resourceful and imaginative solutions to our design challenges and parameters, including working to the budget. Peter also brings a thoroughness and attention to detail to his work and an understanding of the complexities and demands of creating exhibitions for an organisation like Museums Victoria.
One of Peter’s greatest strengths is his capacity to work collaboratively. In his work with Museums Victoria he has liaised with both internal and external stakeholders and is always friendly and professional. He responds positively to feedback and is a practical problem solver. Peter has been a valued member of our project team, and I look forward to an opportunity to work with him again in the future.”
