Peter was engaged by Bendigo Art Gallery to undertake the design of Elvis: Direct From Graceland, a large format fashion exhibition created in partnership with Graceland, that explores the extraordinary life and style of Elvis Presley.
Anticipating the blockbuster audience appeal, the exhibition was designed to enable a rich and immersive storytelling experience that provided easy navigation for large numbers of visitors through the gallery spaces. The exhibition design incorporated large scale theatrical scenography to give a sense of Elvis’s life and home in Graceland.
The exhibition drew crowds of over 220,000 - making it the most attended exhibition in Bendigo Art Gallery’s history. Peter has previously collaborated with Bendigo Art Gallery on other exhibitions including Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary and Grace Kelly: Style Icon.

"Peter’s creative vision brought the exhibition to life beyond our expectations. Peter has an exceptionally strong sense of narrative and the visitor journey, an ability to swiftly understand content and draw out thematic threads. He has a clever knack for finding elegant solutions with the right amount of spectacle using the resources at hand.
This mix of skills was invaluable in helping the material, mainly well-loved personal belongings modest in presence, to really hold the space and give our visitors a multifaceted experience as they move through the story.
Peter is a natural collaborator, responsive and efficient. Peter was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I’m looking forward to future collaborations.”
